A Major Lord Of The Rings Project Has Fallen Victim To Delays

The animated film Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has been delayed from its original release date of April 12, 2024 to December 13, 2024. The delay was caused by scheduling changes by Warner Bros. Discovery, which was formed earlier this year by the merger of Warner Bros. and Discovery. The new company is prioritizing proper promotion for its higher-cost projects, and The War of the Rohirrim is not considered to be one of those projects.

The delay is a disappointment for fans of the Lord of the Rings franchise, but it is understandable given the circumstances. Warner Bros. Discovery is still in the early stages of its merger, and it is likely that the company is still trying to figure out how to best manage its many assets. Hopefully, the delay will allow The War of the Rohirrim to be the best film it can be.

In addition to The War of the Rohirrim, Warner Bros. Discovery has also delayed the release of the Dune sequel, Dune: Part Two, from November 3, 2023 to March 15, 2024. This delay was also caused by the SAG strike, which prohibits actors from promoting their upcoming projects.

The SAG strike is a major disruption to the film industry, and it is likely that we will see more delays in the coming months. However, it is important to remember that these delays are not always a bad thing. In some cases, they can give filmmakers more time to work on their projects and make them even better.
