Call of Duty: Ghosts – Devastation

Devastation is the second downloadable content pack for the 2013 video game Call of Duty: Ghosts. It was released on April 3, 2014 for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and on May 8, 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC.

The DLC pack includes four new multiplayer maps:

  • Ruins: A mountaintop Mayan ruin, this map blends the verticality with tight subterranean sections.
  • Behemoth: Situated on a massive excavation vehicle, Behemoth is a narrow multi-level map.
  • Collision: The mangled remains of a cargo ship crashed into a bridge, the ideal theatre for close-quarters combat.
  • Unearthed: A map inspired by Dome from Modern Warfare 3.

The DLC pack also includes the “Ripper”, a new tactical 2-in-1 weapon that can be switched from SMG to AR and back on the fly.

In addition to the multiplayer maps and weapons, Devastation also includes the “Mayday” episode for the Extinction mode. In Mayday, players board an abandoned research vessel in search of answers. They will face two new alien foes: Seeders and the 100ft tall “Kraken”.

Devastation was met with mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the new maps and weapons, while others criticized the lack of innovation. The DLC pack was also a commercial success, selling over 2 million copies in its first week of release.

Overall, Devastation is a solid DLC pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts. It offers four new maps, a new weapon, and a new episode for the Extinction mode. While it may not be the most innovative DLC pack ever released, it is still a lot of fun to play.
