In the Season of the Witch, Bungie removed the time-gated grind to unlock Stasis. This means that players can now purchase Stasis abilities, grenades, fragments, and aspects with glimmer, with no time-gating restrictions.
Previously, players could only acquire two fragments per week by completing weekly quests from the Exo Stranger. This made it a slow and tedious process to unlock all of the Stasis abilities, especially for players who didn’t have a lot of time to play.
The change was made in response to player feedback. Many players felt that the time-gating was unnecessary and frustrating. Bungie has said that they are committed to making Destiny 2 a more player-friendly experience, and this change is a step in that direction.
To unlock Stasis in the Season of the Witch, players will still need to complete the Beyond Light campaign. However, once they have done that, they can purchase all of the Stasis abilities, grenades, fragments, and aspects from the Exo Stranger with glimmer.
The cost of each item varies, but it is generally a few thousand glimmer. Players can also earn glimmer by completing activities in the game, such as strikes, crucible matches, and public events.
The removal of the time-gated grind to unlock Stasis is a welcome change for many players. It will make it easier for players to get their hands on this powerful new subclass, and it will allow them to experiment with different builds and playstyles.
