Elite Dangerous: Odyssey
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is not available on PlayStation 5. In March 2022, Frontier Developments announced that they were canceling development of the console version of Odyssey, citing technical challenges and a desire to focus on the PC version. The expansion was originally scheduled to be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2021, but was delayed to April 2022. The delay was attributed to the need to improve performance and stability on consoles. However, in March 2022, Frontier announced that they were canceling the console version altogether.
In a statement, Frontier said that they had “made the difficult decision to cancel development of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One”. They said that the decision was made “after careful consideration” and that it was “in the best interests of the game”.
Frontier said that they would be focusing on the PC version of Odyssey and that they would be providing “regular updates on the development”. They said that they would also be offering refunds to anyone who had pre-ordered the console version of Odyssey.
The cancellation of the console version of Odyssey is a disappointment for many fans. However, Frontier has said that they are committed to the game and that they will continue to support it on PC.
