The first preview of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd at gamescom 2023 looks like a promising game that is sure to please fans of the Hellboy comics and movies.
The game is a 2D action-adventure game developed by WayForward and published by Merge Games. It is set in the Hellboy universe and follows the titular character as he investigates a mysterious cult that is trying to summon a powerful demon.
The preview showed off the game’s fast-paced combat, which is inspired by the beat ’em up games of the 1990s. Players will be able to use Hellboy’s signature weapons, such as his oversized fists and his shotgun, to take down enemies.
The game also features a variety of puzzles that players will need to solve to progress. The preview showed off a puzzle where Hellboy had to use his fire breath to melt ice and create a path forward.
