Kai Cenat Threatens to Leave Twitch if IShowSpeed Remains Banned
Kai Cenat has threatened to leave Twitch if his friend and fellow streamer IShowSpeed remains banned from the platform. IShowSpeed was permanently banned from Twitch in December 2021 for violating the platform’s terms of service by making sexist and misogynistic remarks.
Kai Cenat has been a vocal advocate for IShowSpeed’s unban. He has met with Twitch’s CEO, Dan Clancy, to discuss the matter, and he has also taken to social media to express his displeasure with the ban. In a recent livestream, Kai Cenat said that if IShowSpeed’s ban is not lifted, he will “seriously consider” leaving Twitch.
Kai Cenat is a popular streamer with over 5 million followers on Twitch. His departure from the platform would be a major blow to Twitch, and it would likely send a message to other streamers that the platform is not a safe place for them to express themselves freely.
It is unclear whether Twitch will lift IShowSpeed’s ban. The company has not commented on the matter. However, Kai Cenat’s threat to leave the platform may put pressure on Twitch to reconsider its decision.
In addition to his threat to leave Twitch, Kai Cenat has also signed an exclusive deal with the streaming platform Rumble. Rumble is a newer streaming platform that is seen as a competitor to Twitch. Kai Cenat’s deal with Rumble could give him more leverage in his negotiations with Twitch.
It remains to be seen whether Kai Cenat will actually leave Twitch. However, his threat to do so is a sign of the growing discontent among streamers with the platform’s policies.
