Konami Confirms Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Resolution and Framerate
Konami has confirmed the resolution and framerate of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. The collection will target 1080p/60fps on all platforms except for the Nintendo Switch, where it will run at 720p/30fps in handheld mode and 1080p/30fps docked. No platform will run the collection at 4K resolution.
This is a bit disappointing, as some fans were hoping for a higher resolution and framerate on all platforms. However, it is worth noting that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which was released in 2011, also ran at 1080p/60fps on most platforms. So, it is possible that the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection will still look and play great, even at 1080p/60fps.
The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on September 2, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. It will include the original Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
