Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island – The Quest for Guybrush – Official Launch Trailer

Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island – The Quest for Guybrush is a crossover event between the pirate multiplayer game Sea of Thieves and the Monkey Island point-and-click adventure game series. It is a limited-time event that will run from August 31 to September 28, 2023.

In the event, players will help Guybrush Threepwood, the hero of the Monkey Island games, to free himself from the evil LeChuck’s clutches. To do this, they will need to explore Mêlée Island, complete three trials, and prove their pirate prowess.

The three trials are:

• Insult Sword Fighting: A duel of words where players must come up with the best insults to defeat their opponent.
• Pulley-based stunts: A series of challenges that require players to use pulleys and ropes to navigate their way through a series of obstacles.
• A final battle against LeChuck: A showdown between Guybrush and LeChuck that will determine the fate of Mêlée Island.

Players who complete all three trials will receive the title of “Monkey Legend” and a special Monkey Island-themed cosmetic set.

Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island – The Quest for Guybrush is a free event for all players of Sea of Thieves. To participate, players must have the latest update installed and must be playing on the Adventure mode.

The event is a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Monkey Island series. It is also a way for Rare, the developer of Sea of Thieves, to pay tribute to the work of Ron Gilbert, the creator of Monkey Island.
