Season 2 Of Upcoming Marvel Series Will Be The First Without Its Original Director
The upcoming season 2 of the Marvel animated series I Am Groot will be the first without its original director, James Gunn. Gunn, who is known for his work on the Guardians of the Galaxy films, directed the first season of I Am Groot. However, he is not involved in the production of season 2, which is being written and directed by Kirsten Lepore.
The reason for Gunn’s absence is not clear. However, it is possible that it is due to his busy schedule. Gunn is currently working on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 film, which is scheduled to be released in May 2023. He is also developing a number of other projects, including a Peacemaker spin-off series for HBO Max.
It is also possible that Gunn’s absence from I Am Groot is due to creative differences. Gunn has had a somewhat rocky relationship with Marvel Studios in the past. In 2018, he was fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 due to controversial tweets that he had made several years earlier. However, he was later rehired after Disney apologized for the firing.
Whatever the reason for Gunn’s absence, it will be interesting to see how I Am Groot season 2 turns out without him. The first season was a critical and commercial success, and it will be hard to replace Gunn’s unique vision. However, Lepore is a talented director in her own right, and she has a proven track record of creating innovative and visually-appealing animation. So, I am still hopeful that I Am Groot season 2 will be a success.
In addition to I Am Groot, there are a few other upcoming Marvel series that have confirmed season 2s. These include Loki, What If…?, and Hawkeye. It is not yet clear if any of these series will be without their original directors. However, it is certainly possible, as Marvel Studios is known for its willingness to shake things up.
