The Inquisitor is a dark fantasy action-adventure game developed by The Dust and published by Kalypso Media. It is based on the Inquisitor Cycle book series by Polish fantasy author Jacek Piekara. The game is set in an alternative version of reality where Jesus did not die on the cross, but instead came down and unleashed vengeance on all the non-believers. 1500 years later, an army of Inquisitors brutally enforce the faith.

The player takes control of Mordimer Madderdin, an Inquisitor in God’s service. He is sent to the town of Koenigstein which is plagued by a series of mysteries and sin. Mordimer must solve the various cases and crimes of those who have transgressed against the faith, all while uncovering the truth of a darker evil from another realm that is trying to enter the world of the living.

The gameplay trailer for The Inquisitor was released at Gamescom 2023. It showed Mordimer investigating a crime scene, interrogating suspects, and fighting enemies. The trailer also gave a glimpse of the game’s dark and atmospheric setting.

The Inquisitor is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in Q4 2023.
