The Walking Dead Spinoff And Other AMC Shows Find New Streaming Home, But There’s A Catch
In July 2023, AMC Networks announced that it had reached a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to bring a number of its shows, including The Walking Dead spinoffs, to HBO Max. The deal will see the shows stream on HBO Max in the United States for a limited period of time, after which they will return to AMC+.
The shows that are affected by the deal include:
- Fear the Walking Dead
- The Walking Dead: World Beyond
- The Walking Dead: Dead City
- The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
- The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
- Tales of the Walking Dead
The deal is a strategic move for both AMC Networks and Warner Bros. Discovery. For AMC Networks, it allows them to reach a wider audience for their shows, while for Warner Bros. Discovery, it gives them access to some of the most popular shows on television.
The limited streaming window is a bit of a catch for fans, but it is still a good deal for both sides. It allows AMC Networks to keep their shows exclusive for a period of time, while also giving Warner Bros. Discovery a chance to promote their streaming service.
The shows will start streaming on HBO Max on September 1, 2023. They will be available for a limited time, until October 31, 2023. After that, they will return to AMC+.
